4 months too late!? Naomi's Update 16 months
Well I have to say, I've thought about the blogging here and there, but just haven't had the chance to just "sit" and write. So here I am. Let's see what I can remember in the last 4 months.
We will start with Nano-me-ya.
She's had her 1st birthday! Wow! Naomi's party we had at our home, which was jungle themed. Lion and tigers, oh my! We are very blessed for all our family and friends that we have to show their love to Naomi. Winter and summer birthdays certainly are different. Meatballs, fruit trays, lasagna, and mac n cheese was served. Naomi had no problem dipping into her lion share of the cake! She pretty much had green dye poopy diapers for the whole day after!
15 month check up!
Well her 15 month check up ended up being a 14month check up, some how I have no idea, we ended up going in month early.....here's her stats:
Weight: 19lbs (36.88%)
Height: 2' 4" (28inches - .25%)
Head: 44.5cm (25.54%) Which we are very relieved to see this go up, especially since for pre birth and a couple month after she was in the 2%
It's been about 4 weeks since Naomi is on her feet, it really didn't take anytime at all. It was 2 weeks before that, when she was venturing out on her own, but falling down, then crawling to her destination. Then after that I can visually remember the day, she fell, but pushed herself back up, and didn't give up ever since. Now she barely looses balance and she is on the GO,go,GO! One of the things she enjoys are watching older kids run around, she loves to laugh, and scream, trying to run, and catch up after them!
She's weaned her self off bottles almost completely, usually wanting one before bed, and sometimes will wake up in the middle of the night for a snack! Even, before that she's taken her self off formula, I want to say before she turned 12 months. We are back on Smith Brothers milk delivery, after a 6month break but we're HUGE fans! Love that you can get farm fresh milk.
Eating habits: well if you asked me about a month or 2 ago, hands down I would say she loves and would eat ANYTHING! Well, not so much anymore, if it's something she does not like, she will raspberry it out of her mouth as fast as she can. This includes noodles, eggs, bread, some vegetables. She is becoming quite the picky eater. Hoping it's just a phase...but we shall see.
Following her big sisters footsteps she loves watching the baby Einstein movies. They don't play as well as they used to, they've earned some big scratches and scuffs. Debating weather or not to find a new set on ebay. Also having big sister around, she's graduated to "bigger kid" shows, so we still try to squeeze in Curious George, or the movies that LilliAnn watched at her age. Naomi loves to dance, and sing. Pretty much anytime she hears music turn on, she will sway back and forth, and she is singing or humming along.
We are still working on words with her so far it's still "Momma, and dada" and we still try LilliAnn, but still sounds like a long sound. She loves to go bye-bye, she will wave and say "bye" which also is her Hi. Oh, yes how can I forgot she's been able to sign milk, and now we can do please. Still trying to get those sounds come out!
A little slow getting her teeth in, she has her bottom 2 and the top 2, and we see 2 little top right and left fangs poking through.
In about a week we will see an ear specialist for our little girl. Every month constantly since December (when we all had the flu) she has been getting double ear infections, and put on anti biotic. So we are seeking something that can maybe help her. So, we are in prayer, about our decision no matter what we will need to decide.
Naomi is definally my snuggle baby. LOVE IT! She loves to follow you around the house, and most times prefers to be held. She most times will sit contently on your lap, and loves to observe. She loves to give wet kisses, and will press her forehead against yours... as in to head snuggle..!? :) It's super sweet and I wouldn't change a thing. She's getting better at staying in her Sunday school class, but so far more times then stay, they usually come and find us, because she gets so upset. But we will keep trying, she will get better.
She truly is a blessing from the Lord, and we are so grateful to have her in our lives. It makes your heart melt even at such an early age, hands folded to pray. Our prayer for her that she will be a courageous woman of God, that seeks after him.
I hope I'm not forgetting anything. And I also hope that I won't wait as long to update, less to read, and less things forgotten. Summer is around the corner, we've got blueberries and strawberries to grow. I'm hoping to get some veggies going to. - might be a little delayed, ill try and get some pictures to go along with her post soon -
