Naomi's 4 month check-up / 1st time being sick

SUNDAY
Altho, I knew it would happen, I didn't think that i would have happened so soon. It started on Friday, when I thought she was feeling warm. Saturday was when her fever really started to show, and continued through Sunday. She hit the 102.8 range, and she decreased her "official" 6oz bottles down to barley 2oz. Sunday morning is when i got really concerned, and put a call into the on call nurse. Who told me it would probably be a good idea to bring her in to MaryBridge ER.

By 9:00 LilliAnn got dropped of at Aunties House to play. And Naomi and I headed to the ER. I had never been there before, i was pretty impressed when i walked in. It wasn't long before they brought us back to a room. Before they did, they took Naomi's weight, when he was done, he told me that i could just carry her, and he would carry our things (bag, and car seat) i thought it was very thoughtful of him to do so. Once in the room, another nurse came in, She was also very nice, and she took Naomi vitals, and temperature, and gave her a lil' hospital gown to change into. (It had the lil' LooneyToons print all over it)

The whole time we were there, she didn't have any fever. (I had given her Tylenol, at 7:00 that morning) After awhile, the doctor comes in and orders some tests to be done, to see if he could find out what was going on. My first thought was that she might have an ear infection. But her ears seemed clear. He ordered a chest x-ray to see if she may or may not have phenomena. And he also wanted a catheter done to see if she and a unirney tract infection. I really didn't like the idea of the the catheter, and almost tried to excuse a way out of it.

The 2 nice nurses came back in, unfortunately, at this point, Naomi didn't think that they were so nice, one had to hold her down, while the other had to do the cath. Naomi screamed and tears poured out of her eyes, i was able to stand right next to her stroking her head, but i did not seam to help. I was able to scoop her up when they were done, swaddled her and rocked her, it was a little bit before she calmed down, and was falling asleep in my arm. A little tears couldn't help fall from my face.

It just seemed like a few short moments before the x-ray nurse was wanting us to come back for the x-rays. This even gets sadder, expeciacally from a momma's point of view.
They had me put her on a table with 2 holes in it for her legs to go, at that point she wanted me to lift Naomi arms up straight above her head so she could enclose her in a tube a strap her in. I must have not been doing it right, afraid because she was already crying, she had to call her assistant over for her to do it. So here Naomi is sitting on a table with her legs dangling and arms stright out, screaming (mommy save me) i had to stand back while they were taking the pictures. It almost seamed forever, since they had to rotate the table for another angle, tears from my eyes were definitely rolling down at this point. Soon enough she was in my arms again. Swaddling her body close to mine, i gave her a binky which seemed to help, and she started to dose off again.

Daddy came the ER after he was off of work, and it wasn't long after that, when the doctor came back with her tests results. Her x-ray came back clear, but then her urine came back with the white blood cells elevated. Poor lil' girl has a UTI (unitany tract infection) He prescribed some anti botics. And sent us on our way.

MONDAY -
Naomi already scheduled 4 month check-up. I know i know, why didn't i just wait 1 more day till her appt. BUT, i wanted Naomi to be taken care of right away, and i didn't want to have to end up bringing her the the hospital to get an IV because she was dehydrated. I felt i did what was best for her at the time.
So her 4 month stats are as follows:

Weight: 13 lbs 9.5oz (35%)
Height: 24"    (28%)
Head: 38.7 cm  (7%)

She got lucky and didn't have to suffer at this appt. she got to skip her shots, but is scheduled for them in about a week and a half. Along with a follow up from her UTI, he aslo wants to do more tests, he mentioned something about an ultrasound on her kidneys, and another cath. :( Baby's this little normally don't get UTI's yet. And he said since she got one this time, her chances are high for getting them again, and whenever she gets a fever, they will be testing for UTI. :( my poor babe. He did also say "this may be a 1 time thing, lets hope that's all it is"

Other then that her apt went well, and everything looked good, he had a medial student with him, who also checked out Naomi. But other then that, the appt was short. And I'm glad it was, epically since we were in the ER for a little over 4 hours the day before.

------All about her------(Saturday)
Naomi is starting to laugh, it's pretty adorable. She laughs when you get her ribs with your mouth, or tickle her neck. She loves to smile at Bowser. And loves it when her sister is around and gives her attention. As for tonight, LilliAnn was bouncing all over her room, and Naomi thought it was the greatest thing. She also starting blowing bubbles tonight. I tried to catch a clip of it, but towards the end she was pretty much done, and strating to get frustrated.
Have i mentioned she's rolling over from back to tummy!!!! Yep, has been for a couple weeks now. We have to keep a sharp eye on her, she's like a little pancake, it's pretty much an INSTANT roll when you lay her on her back.
She's getting pretty good at grasping things, her binky being the #1, she can take it out of her mouth, but is working on getting it back IN.
She's not to much of a fan of her swing anymore, she wants to roll out of it, I took out the straps before she could really move around, but now that she is, i can't put her in there till we can strap her in. She will sit in the Bumbo, but not very long after, she will want to twist her way out.

I'm so thankful to the Lord, for blessing me with such 2 wonderful lil' girls, I couldn't imangine life without them being apart of it. It's exciting that i get a front row seat, of watching how God is going to mold them.
